After the 40 minutes bus ride from Ajmer to Pushkar, when we finally set foot on this beautiful city we could really feel the warmth that this small town held within itself. It was the last week of December and there couldn’t have been a better time to visit this place.

We started walking all the way to the place where we had planned to stay – “The Hosteller, Pushkar”. It was one of the best decisions ever. Set exactly at the heart of the city, this place was in the middle of the famous Pushkar market and the Pushkar Ghat but at the same time it was a quiet and cozy place where one could just spend their time gazing at the stars and listening to music with some bon-fire to keep it warm.

Once we enquired about the best places, cafes and the best food in the city, we set out exploring the place with all the vigour and enthusiasm. The streets were filled with people buying stuffs from all the colorful shops, eating all kinds of tasty food on the way, there were a lot of cows too (Typical Indian place). There were shops with varieties of dream catchers that caught my eyes. Another thing that caught my eyes were the people out there in Pushkar, they were such happy people and the most helpful of them all.
We were really loving each and every moment out there.
Pushar happens to be a town where you won’t find Alchohol (You won’t even feel the need to drink), non vegeterian food (trust me you won’t even miss anything) and also not a lot of Indians (Best part).
Out here you will find a lot of beautiful cafes with a lot of creative work all around. You can laze around and spend some quality time in one of those cafes by the Pushkar Ghat.
One such cafe was the Tiko’s which became my personal favourite cafe in Pushkar.
We enjoyed the morning breeze while sipping a cup of coffee and a glass of fresh Juice and grabbing a bite of the tastiest pancakes.
You can walk around the ghats and eat a “Laffa and Falafel” at the Original Ganga Laffa and Falafel (The tastiest thing ever) or have a Sabudana Vada from one of the bhaiyas sitting out there. Everything tastes good in Pushkar.

The sunset by the Pushkar lake is one of the most breathtaking view you can ever see. More than the sunset it is the very aura around the lake which was giving out such a happy vibe : An uncle with a moustache singing a rajasthani folk song while playing some instruments, a foreigner girl dancing around with the hula hoop, a group of friends hanging out having the best time of their life. It was a beautiful evening. Something which gave us a very happy feeling about life.

And I would love to go to Pushkar once again if I ever get the chance. Because the place is worth it. Unexpected, but it is a place worth travelling to.
